You’d think the Canadians would be pleased. Canada’s jobless rate has just dropped further to 6.6 per cent after adding 34,500 jobs in the last month. But this is entirely accounted for by the fact that the number of self-employed individuals has gone up by 41,000. However according to this report this is terrible. Illegal logging laws under review

The Labor-Green illegal logging laws, slated for introduction in November last year (despite an Abbott opposition promise to overturn them), have now been frozen and are subject to a review that is due to report in March this year. OHS: Harmonized to what?

You might recall the process to ‘harmonize’ Australia’s work safety laws that unfolded between about 2010 and 2012. ICA campaigned on the issue closely, opposing the harmonized model that was being pushed.
