If you don’t do this, the ATO won’t send you your JobKeeper $$$$s

We’ve had lots of people contacting us confused as to when they will receive the JobKeeper payment. We’ve checked with the ATO.

***You will NOT receive JobKeeper payments from the ATO if you don’t fill out the necessary online form.

The online form became available on Monday (4 May 2020).

If you are self-employed (sole trader, partnership, PTY or trust) and whether you have employees or not and are eligible for JobKeeper, you need to:
  • Make sure you have enrolled online (Step 1)
  • Then, from 4 May:
    • Complete Step 2 (employee details and/or identify who will receive the payment).
    • Complete Step 3 (monthly turnover declaration).
Note—The turnover declaration:
  • Can be accessed through myGov or the Business Portal using myGovID.
  • Must be completed each month.
  • Does not affect your eligibility for JobKeeper. It’s for government data purposes. (It wants to track business turnover during the Coronavirus period.)
The ATO has released a new video for self-employed that might be helpful.

So … make sure you get this done. It’s reasonably straightforward!!
